Do I have to create an account?
No. On the first screen, tap Later — this device is registered and your data is saved in the cloud under this device (a local account, for this one device only). A cloud account — a username, an email and a password — links your devices, so you can use the same data on more than one device and keep access to it if a device is lost or replaced.
How do I use Nijio on a second phone or tablet?
Create a cloud account, or sign in to your existing one, on each device (Settings → Account → Connect). Signing in links those devices into one account, so your data from all of them is available together on every device you sign in on.
I didn't get my code / I forgot my password.
In the sign-in dialog tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and tap Send code — we send a 6-digit code. It can land in the spam folder. The code is at the start of the email subject; always use the code from the newest email, then set a new password.
Where do I find my Device ID?
Open Settings → Account. Under Local account you'll find Device ID: — tap the copy button next to it. Support may ask for it to find your data.
How do I build my family tree?
A family tree in Nijio is a collection of persons and the relationships between them. Your first family tree is created with a placeholder starting person — open it, tap that person, and enter your real details. To grow it, use Add Person to add persons, then open a person's Relations to define how they are connected: assign parents by choosing an existing couple (Parent Relationship), or add a relationship with a partner — marriage, partnership or engagement — under Own Relationships. Parents and children are linked through these relationships, not added directly.
Can I import or export my data?
Yes. Export is in the menu while a family tree is open; Import is in the menu on the family tree overview. Use GEDCOM to exchange with other genealogy programs, or JSON, Nijio's own lossless format, to save a file copy of a family tree. Import always creates a new family tree. To use your own data on several devices, use a cloud account; to give a family tree to someone else, use Share (read-only) or Transfer (hand over ownership).
What is the difference between Nijio Free and Premium?
Nijio Free and Premium share the same core features (e.g. building your family tree, cloud sync, import/export, sharing, printing). Premium adds personalisation — your own app name, app icon, start image and welcome message. Free can be upgraded to Premium at any time. Separately, and on Free too, you can buy higher limits (capacity) and support (email/phone). Your current limits are under Settings → Account → Limits. For what's included and prices, see the price list.
How do I report a problem or contact support?
In the app: Settings → Info & Support → Support, then Report Problem or Contact. Both open this support form and create a real ticket, and we reply to your email.
